Music

Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. Our curriculum at Etone College is designed to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music, self-confidence and their skills as musicians. Pupils will develop a critical engagement with music and develop their understanding of its social, historical and cultural significance through performing, composing and appraising. Students will engage with a diverse range of great composers including British music and World music, which has been designed to reflect the local community here at Etone College. Additionally, the school has an established choir and offers peripatetic music lessons where students can pursue love of learning beyond the timetabled lessons. Through music, students also develop their employability skills, particularly developing teamwork, resilience and communication. At the end of Key Stage 3 students will have developed their skills to be able to access Key Stage 4 pathways and to also have a lifelong appreciation of music as an individual.
