On Tuesday, 7th January 2025, pupils, parents and staff gathered to listen to Prof Dr Edward Guinan, a world famous astro-physicist. Alongside his huge list of career achievements, Prof Guinan was part of the team who discovered rings around the planet Neptune. He currently teaches at Villanova University, Philadelphia and works with NASA. His talk focused on a history of the planet Mars and his project to investigate whether people could live on Mars in the future and grow their own food. Etone pupils are particularly fortunate to have access to a sample of the soil which Prof Guinan and his team have created, in partnership with NASA, to grow their own crops.
